Transforming the Future: The Making of International Law (13 January 2021)

Kickstart the new year by joining us at Transforming the Future: The Making of International Law on 13 January 2021, the second of our panel series on Reconceptualizing International Law. This Series is organised by IILA together with the Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL) Seminar at UCLA Law and the International Arbitration Group of Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher LLP, and co-sponsored by the Centre for International Law at the National University of Singapore. Register here to join.

Running through 2021, the Reconceptualizing International Law Series will feature leading thinkers and practitioners from the world over, entering into a true dialogue - with one another as well as attendees - on how to bring concrete and tangible change to the field of global law in order to address global injustice and systemic inequality.

A podcast of our first panel, The “Case” for Reconceptualizing International Law, is available on Spotify, SoundCloud, and Apple, and a written summary is available here. A video recording was previously posted on our website here. We also reattach Special Rapporteur Achiume’s Report on reparations for racial discrimination rooted in slavery and colonialism and a report on reparations led by Professor Rajagopal following the Durban World Conference on Racism, as discussed during the panel.
