IILA worked with the 2023 Chair of the G77 + China (Cuba) in the following international law capability-enhancing projects:

Protecting Marine Biological Diversity in the Oceans (2023): The health of the oceans is under critical attack from a host of angles. The need to ensure the long-term life of the mass of marine life in the seas beyond the control of any one country is vital – and hearing the voices of the full range of small and developing States making up the G77+China is invaluable. IILA worked side-by-side with the Chair of the 134 developing States in the landmark negotiations and finalization of the BBNJ Agreement in 2023.
